چکیده
Radio frequency identification (RFID) is a mature technology, which allows performing contactless data readout via wireless communication links. While protocols in this field are subject to regulations, there room of opportunities improve the hardware realization antennas devices, support technology. In particular, range extension and miniaturization passive RFID tags an important objective with far going impact on retail, security, IoT, many others. Here we introduce new concept high-permittivity ceramic tag, relies different physical principles. Instead using conduction currents metallic wires drive electronic chips radiate electromagnetic waves, high permittivity components rely efficient excitation displacement currents. Those efficiently converted currents, powering memory chip. The practical aspect approach improved robustness environmental fluctuations, footprint reduction, extension. our ({\epsilon} ~ 100) elements have demonstrated 25% reading improvement respect commercial tags. case, when state art readers used, distances developed approaching 23 m could be further extended matching circuits.

A Wideband Stacked Shorted Antenna for Miniaturized Active Rfid Tags
A novel and simple antenna applicable to active RFID tags is designed. The designed antenna has been skillfully integrated with the active RFID tag circuit. The antenna consists of two parts. One part comprises stacked shorted patches and a ground plane. The other one is an active tag circuit mounted on the bottom of the antenna. By using the offset shorting posts technique, the proposed antenn...
متن کاملAn investigation into long range detection of passive UHF RFID tags
Radio frequency identification tags (RFID) have been in use for a number of years, in a variety of applications. They are a small computer chip like device that can range in size from a thumbnail to a credit card size device. They consist of a small silicon chip, and an antenna used to receive and transmit data. When a tag receives a signal from a valid reader it sends a response, typically a t...
متن کاملLifecycle Extension of Long Range UHF RFID Tags based on Energy Harvesting
Recently applications of UHF RFID systems are often requiring sensing and monitoring capabilities on the transponder side as well as long operating ranges (long range sensor tag). Such functionality results in a high energy consumption of the tag on the one hand but also requires an uninterrupted energy supply on the other hand. This is not achievable with reader-powered passive UHF RFID System...
متن کاملDesign and Fabrication of Miniaturized Fractal Antennas for Passive UHF RFID Tags
Generally, passive RFID tags consist of an integrated circuit (RFID chip) and an antenna. Because the passive tags are batteryless, the power transfer between the RFID's chip and the antenna is an important factor in the design. The increasing of the available power at the tag will increase the read range of the tag which is a key factor in RFID tags. The passive RFID tag antennas cannot be tak...
متن کاملDesign of a Miniaturized Meandered Line Antenna for UHF RFID Tags
A semi-circle looped vertically omnidirectional radiation (VOR) patterned tag antenna for UHF (919-923 MHz for Malaysia) frequency is designed to overcome the impedance mismatch issue in this paper. Two impedance matching feeding strips are used in the antenna structure to tune the input impedance of the antenna. Two dipole shaped meandered lines are used to achieve a VOR pattern. The proposed ...
